The Faculty of Nursing’s Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Group, along with third-year nursing students, organized the “Bright Community, Free from Mental Health Issues” project. This initiative targeted individuals of all ages across five communities in Nong Luang Subdistrict, Selaphum District, Roi Et Province, and took place from September to November 2024. The project’s goal was to promote mental health awareness and prevention through home visits, providing education on mental health issues and preventive measures, screening individuals with mental health problems, and offering counseling and support to those in need. Additionally, the project focused on assisting and rehabilitating individuals with schizophrenia in collaboration with their families and community members to reduce stigma and enhance the quality of life for those affected. Participants reported gaining valuable knowledge and experiencing their highest levels of well-being in years. Individuals with schizophrenia also received effective rehabilitation, resulting in high levels of satisfaction and improved mental health.
