On Monday, July 15, 2024, Roi Et Rajabhat University hosted a workshop as part of the “Development of Networked Mental Health Support Systems in Universities – Health Region 7, Fiscal Year 2024.” This initiative, held at the Tosamphumindra Building, aimed to enhance the mental health support capabilities of university staff and partner hospital personnel, fostering a robust support network within the university.
The event opened with remarks from Assistant Professor Dr. Wichit Kamantakun, Acting President of Roi Et Rajabhat University, followed by a report from Ms. Laksana Sakulthong, Deputy Director of Health Region 7, and a keynote address by Dr. Pensiri Miratphrai, a child and adolescent psychiatrist from Roi Et Hospital. Dr. Pensiri discussed mental health issues and psychiatric disorders among adolescents, setting the stage for discussions on mental health screening and counseling approaches for university students. Participants, including nursing staff from Roi Et and Selaphum Hospitals, public health experts, and clinical psychologists, engaged in group sessions to develop counseling procedures specifically focused on adolescent mental health. This collaborative effort provided essential training and knowledge exchange, equipping university and hospital staff to improve mental health services and support systems for students, ultimately enhancing mental well-being in the university community
